UK Returns to Growth

There have been two encouraging reports in as many days that suggest the UK may finally be heading into more buoyant times.

Firstly, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) has suggested the UK will be back towards its trend rate of economic growth in six months’ time. The index rose to 100.8 in April from 100.7 in February and March indicating a long term trend.

Secondly, a study published by Legal and General suggests that the squeeze on UK household income is easing and there are positive signs that households are moving back to long term saving.

Combined with a 5% rise in the number of firms in the Capital planning to take on more staff this quarter, there is a more optimistic outlook in the UK.
